This makes some sense. It's true that encryption can be used, however, the mass of people will not go to the bother of encrypting. They will probably naturally move to legal and free sources of music, movies, and software. There are so many free sources that I believe once the G8 start fining us all, we'll probably have another technology or something else to use that's better and may be legal.

No statistics can ever be completely accurate on net traffic but this is a really good estimation, i would say p2p traffic may even be higher that 44% overall. But it shows p2p and digital media on the internet are gaining popularity and turning into a real headache for ISP's traffic wise.

Very interesting article indeed, and not that unbelievable a prospect for the future of the net, This is why net neutrality is such an important subject.

Seems Rev3 are being pretty lenient about this incident, i would have preferred a stronger stance on the subject to have been taken as they have lost revenue due to mediadefenders mess.

Steam games have been cracked just like any other, this taken into account Valve look to be bigging up a system of security that simple don't work. Yes it may be harder but it has been circumvented all the same.

I love revision3's content and am an avid viewer, i do however think that Jim Louderback is being far too lenient DDos attacking anything should be classed as espionage and come with a criminal conviction.
Revision3 did suffer a loss during this time in precious advertising revenue and therefore should be compensated by MediaDefender or legally, otherwise companies like mediadefender will continue to blanket monitor or attack traffic as they deem fit without reprisals or consequence.
